Cummins Turbo Technologies works closely to develop and maintain our supply base as they strive to meet the demands of fast cycle time initiatives, zero defects in production and the development of new components. Supplier Quality Improvement (SQI) is included within DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) to ensure that the supply base capabilities are recognised and information and data is made available to the engineers when new designs are being created and developed. Cummins Turbo Technologies has individual people responsible for purchasing new products and commodities who, in addition to meeting cost targets, also have responsibility for ensuring that the technical and quality aspects of product are met before release to production. The SQI team worldwide faces a common challenge to deliver a supply base capable of meeting our requirements in a highly competitive environment. |
