1948 National Health Service in Britain.
The Holset success story began in 1948 when W C Holmes became interested in manufacturing the Flexible Couplings designed by Louis Croset. In 1948, Paul Croset was persuaded to start up and manage the new venture based in Huddersfield.

1957 Sputnik the world's first artificial satellite.
On the 29th March 1952 with Mr D M Henshaw as Chairman and Mr Paul J F Croset as the Managing Director, Holset was born as a Limited Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of BHD Engineering Limited Group. The name Holset was created from the names of HOL mes and CroSET.

1969 "One giant leap for mankind"

became the first man to walk on the moon.
1967 Holset fire destroyed both production and
administrative facilities at Huddersfield.

   
In 1973 the ownership of Holset changed twice, first with the purchase by the Hanson Trust and then by Cummins Engine Company Inc.

1978 The first baby born through IVF was Louise Brown, born in Oldham England.
In 1979 Holset installed its first CAD
(computer aided design) system.

1981 The Space Shuttle Columbia lifted off from its pad at the Kennedy Space Center , marking the first shuttle launch and a new era of space flight.



Holset Aftermarket was created in 1985.

   
in 1994 Tata Holset India was established.

1995 Channel Tunnel was finally opened between England and France.


1998 Holset launches the world's first sliding wall variable geometry turbocharger (VGTTM).
     
1998 Worldwide Technical Centre opened in Huddersfield.

2002 HRH Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee.
2002 Holset celebrates its Golden Jubilee.

 
Holset expanded its operations in China in 2004, opening a purpose built manufacturing site, technical centre and aftermarket facility in Wuxi.

 
2004 Tata  expanded its facilities in Dewas. The new facility was built to World class standards to achieve zero defects.

2005 The Airbus A380, the biggest airliner in the world made its maiden flight. The aircraft can carry up to 800 passengers and has a wingspan wider than a football pitch.
 
2006 Holset Turbochargers changed its name to Cummins Turbo Technologies, to align ourselves more closely with our parent company.

   
2006 A new stand alone plant is opened in Charleston Palmetto, focusing on  heavy-duty VGTTM turbocharger manufacturing serving North America and other global markets.

   
2007Cummins Inc. acquired the remaining equity ownership in our Indian joint venture; Tata Holset Limited, from the Tata Group of Companies

   
2008 Established in 2008, the Pithampur plant, India, supplies heavy-duty turbochargers to major Indian and overseas OEM's. This facility is built to world class standards and manufactures high quality turbochargers.
