Huddersfield Employees Raise Money for The Laura Crane Trust
Turbo Technologies Huddersfield has raised a total of £1,036 for the local charity, The Laura Crane Trust. The Laura Crane Trust is a charity that raises money for funding research into cancer in 13–24 year olds.
The money was raised in a number of ways. Firstly, Sue Kennedy; Purchase Ledger/Payroll Clerk and her son Adam dressed up as Santa whilst her youngest son Marc dressed up as a reindeer and ran a 1 mile race for the charity. Adam was the first runner to complete the mile out of about 350 people! Swee Luan Lim; Engineer – Product Engineering also ran the race. The run was organized by the Laura Crane Trust and Kirkwood Hospice at Leeds road running track near to the Huddersfield facility.
The rest of the money was raised through the sale of raffle tickets by Melanie Reid; Community Involvement Team Administrator. The prizes included a Samsung DVD recorder, voucher for the Temujin restaurant, signed Huddersfield Town shirt and a signed Catherine Tate DVD. The raffle tickets were pulled out of a hat in the canteen by Huddersfield Rugby League ‘Giants’ player Brad Drew. Also, a big thank you for all the other donations, especially to the Apprentices for donating money raised through carol singing.
The money was handed over to Sarah Hancock and Jemma Fitton from The Laura Crane Trust.
